Steve Thiessen, Director
Each of these individuals has been, and will continue to be, greatly missed as a part of our team here in Quebec. Yet, with our sigh of sadness, there is a sound of joy in the very same breath as we welcome and now press on with those whom the Lord has called to His divine work at hand. It is always encouraging to see as people come and go that the Lord not only brings the workers that are needed, but He strengthens and equips those around us to "rise to the challenge" set before us all. What a privilege to see the reality of His life at work!
In the midst of this change, we have been greatly blessed, not only by those who faithfully serve around us, but also by those whom the Lord provides to "be served.” In a year with fewer students, we have seen every empty bed as an opportunity to minister to someone. As we have moved forward, God has provided groups of all sorts from a variety of places with numbers just right to fill our empty spaces—a fantastic testimony of His provision in a variety of ways.
One of our greatest challenges at present has been fighting the desire to follow the crowd. In dry times "they" will tell you to "hold back, hide what you have, take care of yourself and let others fend for themselves.” All the while the Lord reminds us that there is no better time to give. Spend what you have, invest in the eternal, when others are running to their cisterns which they have stored up but are wasting away, let them come and taste the water from the fountain of Life. May we be bold to follow Him and stay true to give with all liberty according to His will.
