Harvest Haven - Annual Report 2009
MALAYSIA
Harvest Haven (Ipoh)
John Lee, Director
More than just providing the tools for training, Harvest Haven is becoming a haven for many tired, burned-out and discouraged leaders seeking God’s will, plan and purposes for their lives and ministry. Many come for rest, renewal and recharge while at the same time enjoying the peace and quiet. Stuart and Jill Briscoe’s visit for two weeks in March/April was a great encouragement to many as they brought fresh air andexcitement back into their lives and ministries through the teaching of God’s Word.
As more people know about us, additional facilities are added. Two friends saw the need for a basketball court and this led them to donate it. Now young and old can all enjoy playing basketball on the newly built court. A German missionary organization, Hilfe Fur Bruder, heard about our need for additional accommodation and decided to fund the project which included the purchase of two cabins that added 12 more beds. It was completed for use in November. Praise the Lord for all His abundant provisions and blessings!
We are privileged to have many different groups and ministries come, and two in particular attracted our attention. They are the “Young Writers” and the “Adventure Camp” programs. We believe that these two programs are very strategic and have far-reaching effects on our young people today. We need both creative Christian writings and sports and adventures as high-impact tools to reach out and touch lives. In view of these highly effective ministries, we welcome your input and contribution of ideas and resources to help us prepare for the challenges ahead.
Our first short-term Bible School commences on February 10 to March 21, 2009. We are praying that the Lord will bring twenty students for the six-week course. At the same time, we are also looking for twenty sponsors for the needy students. Do continue to pray with us for a housekeeper and maintenance staff.
